We had a forkn’ good time developing this delicious brand.

It’s no secret that the Posture crew is full of foodies. So when we first met with Mike and Rich about their new restaurant concept, of course we jumped at the chance to bring their vision to life. The name, Fork ‘n’ Bowl, conveyed a play on words that came with a ton of punny possibilities. We were soon diving headfirst into a bowl of delicious branding as our brains brimmed with creative executions.

While surveying the industry landscape for “made-to-order bowl” joints, our research brought us to a lot of bright, colorful brands just bursting with personality. Given the business name that Mike and Rich had already selected, we all felt this was the natural direction for the Fork ‘n’ Bowl brand.

Our initial concepts worked to convey that bright energetic persona while conveying the freshness of the food and ingredients. We divided our efforts into 2 different approaches:

One of the initial representational logo concepts for Fork 'n' Bowl.

Representational

Using objects and icons that are more representative of utensils, bowls, and food to emphasize their focus.

A second branding concept using minimalist ideas.

Minimal

Relying on simple shapes and typography to represent the brand and letting the menu speak for itself.

We also had the unique opportunity with this project to help our clients build a brand while they’re building their physical location. Throughout the building renovations, we were delighted to assist with graphics for the restaurant walls, digital menus, and signage out front. Our goal was to carry through the energy of the brand while maintaining the historic nature of the building that the architects worked to preserve along the block.

The final touches came with employee apparel paired with some brightly branded restaurant supplies. We worked with several vendors to ensure we had the best quality product for the best price. The folks at Sticker Mule, for example, are a great resource for custom holo and diecut stickers (and more!)

Of course, we also had to give them the full social media boost with bright, engaging images.

And just how FUN are these digital menu screens that we animated?

Overall we had a blast working on this brand from start to finish. We learned even more about the restaurant industry while bringing personality in to a really fun brand. Feeling hungry? Go check out Fork ‘n’ Bowl and place your order today!
